Payroll Coordinator — Los Angeles

We currently have a great opportunity for a Payroll Coordinator for a reputable law firm’s Los Angeles office. The Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for processing the bi-weekly payroll and performing complex and specialized accounting support. The Payroll Coordinator will work with the accounting department to ensure client relations and satisfaction are attained in all areas of position.

Specific Payroll Coordinator duties will include:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll using UKG
  • Respond and resolve external/internal inquiries regarding payroll matters
  • Maintain detailed records of time and attendance using UKG
  • Reconcile and maintain payroll accordingly
  • Post and process benefits deductions as needed, 401(k) contributions and reporting
  • Process and maintain accurate records of benefits accruals such as vacation/sick time
  • Provide frequent reports to management
  • General ledger recording of payroll
  • Assist with payroll/Benefits audits.

Ideal Payroll Coordinator candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or business, preferred.
  • Minimum of (4) year’s experience in working with multi-state payroll in a middle market environment
  • Minimum of (2) year’s experience with UKG payroll
  • You anticipate what is needed, take initiative, and make things happen.

Ella graduated from Loyola Marymount University in May of 2022 with a Bachelor’s in History and Spanish. As an undergraduate, Ella loved to learn about the intersectionality of the past and present through culture, law, language, and the arts.

Shortly after graduation, Ella moved to a small town in Spain, Segovia; about an hour outside of Madrid. She taught English in a classroom setting to elementary and middle school aged students across five small, rural pueblos. After moving back to LA a year later, Ella expressed an interest in recruiting and law, and was connected with Mitch. Ella looks forward to learning from Mitch about employment from the recruiting lens and values the professional expertise he has to offer.​
