Labor & Employment Associate needed to join a growing and mission-driven law firm representing public and private sector employers throughout California. This opportunity offers experienced attorneys the chance to take on substantive litigation matters, provide strategic counsel to clients, and play a key role in an expanding practice group. Labor & Employment Associate Responsibilities Include:
- Represent employers in labor and employment litigation matters in state and federal forums
- Provide day-to-day advice and counsel regarding California and federal employment law compliance
- Handle matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, and leave-related claims
- Draft motions, pleadings, legal memoranda, and other litigation documents
- Conduct and defend depositions and manage discovery processes
- Assist with trial preparation, arbitrations, mediations, and administrative hearings
- Draft policies, employee handbooks, separation agreements, and workplace-related documentation
- Conduct workplace investigations and prepare investigative findings
- Support clients with labor relations matters, including grievances, negotiations, and related proceedings
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive and strategic service
Qualified Candidates Should Have:
- J.D. from an accredited law school and active California Bar membership
- 5–7 years of labor and employment law experience
- Strong litigation background with experience handling substantive matters independently
- Excellent research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
- Knowledge of California employment laws and related federal regulations
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal and client service skills
- Experience advising public sector employers or labor relations matters is a plus
Targeting a $185,000 – $225,000 per year salary, depending on experience.
