Litigation Paralegal needed for a mid-sized firm with a strong presence in L.A. that works with a strong and high-end client base. Ideal candidates will have 2 or more years’ experience in complex business litigation.
The Litigation Paralegal assists with case planning; case development; case and information management; research; interviews witnesses; gathers facts; retrieves information; analyzes documents; collects, compiles, organizes, searches, analyzes, presents and utilizes data and other evidence as directed by attorneys.
Litigation Paralegal specific responsibilities include:
- Work with attorneys to manage information for use in representation of clients.
- Gather, compile, organize, and analyze data and documents.
- Prepare data and evidence for use by attorneys.
- Prepare for trial by performing tasks such as selecting, organizing and preparing exhibits and deposition transcripts.
- Meet with attorneys, litigation assistants, secretaries and others to develop and complete projects.
- Investigate facts and search pertinent sources, such as public records and internet sources, and capture data.
Qualified Paralegal candidates will have:
- Three or more years of commercial litigation paralegal experience.
- Familiarity with office computer information systems, including personal computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel spreadsheets.
- Experience leading projects and working with a paralegal team strongly preferred, as well as experience in litigation support databases (such as iPro, Relativity, Summation or Concordance), e-discovery, e-docs, document imaging and spreadsheets.
- Preferred experience with trial presentation software, web or graphic arts, video, or photography.
- High School diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Qualified California Paralegal (by Certificate or Declaration)
