Chief Financial Officer — Orange County

We are looking for an efficacious leader with strong strategic decision-making skills to join a reputable and growing nonprofit in Orange County as the Chief Financial Officer.

The CFO provides accounting, budgetary, treasury, risk management, and operational support for all programs and activities. They will report directly to the CEO and routinely interact with the Board of Directors. The CFO is responsible for overseeing and managing financial operations, leading the annual budgeting process, producing monthly financial statements and performance measurement reports, as well as assuring the organization is in compliance with reporting requirements.  

 

Responsibilities of the Chief Financial Officer include:

  • Develop the organizational budget for individual programs and expanded services, including the preparation of recisions.
  • Oversee the Billing, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable functions and the integration of billing information throughout systems.
  • Manage accounting control systems and internal audits.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with the firm’s independent Auditor.
  • Offer advice concerning the financial implications of all major decisions, strategies, and organizational transactions and assist in negotiation of contract terms.
  • Direct revenue cycle operations and claims analysis services.

 

Qualified Chief Financial Officer candidates will have:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare management, or a similar degree. Alternatively, a BS degree with 5+ years in a healthcare management financial leadership role. CPA is preferable.
  • Knowledge of GAAP, non-profit accounting, fund accounting, and FASB accounting rules
  • Understanding of CalAIM regulations and compliance requirements

Ella graduated from Loyola Marymount University in May of 2022 with a Bachelor’s in History and Spanish. As an undergraduate, Ella loved to learn about the intersectionality of the past and present through culture, law, language, and the arts.

Shortly after graduation, Ella moved to a small town in Spain, Segovia; about an hour outside of Madrid. She taught English in a classroom setting to elementary and middle school aged students across five small, rural pueblos. After moving back to LA a year later, Ella expressed an interest in recruiting and law, and was connected with Mitch. Ella looks forward to learning from Mitch about employment from the recruiting lens and values the professional expertise he has to offer.​
