Product Compliance Manager

Reputable brand is seeking a Compliance Manager that is skilled at developing, implementing and auditing against internal process controls for consumer products, and to help best-in-class team ensure products comply with applicable standards and regulations.

Under general direction from company’s Senior Counsel, this role is responsible for delivering world-class internal controls and product compliance to help build a more significant competitive advantage by eliminating risk and preventing product deficiencies.

Specific Duties Include:

  • Develop and implement product design control processes/procedures, beginning at the R&D phase of our product life cycle. These controls will follow the product on its life cycle through the end of mass production, and will ensure proper certification and compliance.

  • Manage and control all product certification and compliance characteristics through mass production, in accordance with identified Quality Assurance standards, company procedures & product specifications.

  • Design and implement compliance and testing procedures (CPSA, Prop 65, RSL, etc.).

  • Continuously update and improve the compliance and testing standards and processes to ensure compliant, world-class products.

  • Lead and support process improvement projects.

  • Generate action plans and recommendations for process improvement.

  • Generate ideas and action plans to reduce quality product issues to the minimum.

  • Work in close interaction with the Product Development and R&D teams at development stage of new products in order to prevent compliance and quality issues and ensure the development and production of consistent and compliance products on a production basis.

  • Ensure all development testing is performed and validated prior to production launch.

  • Ensure that all product specification and to-be-developed/established compliance and quality standards are achieved in mass production.

  • Maintain compliance with internal and external standards; in addition, collaborate with Easton key leaders to ensure compliance with applicable standards, including those associated with baseball and softball governing bodies (USA Baseball, ASA, USSSA, NCAA, etc.) and other standards organizations (NOCSAE, SEI, etc.).

  • Evaluate new and changing regulations that impact operations and communicate changes throughout the organization to minimize Company’s exposure to risk (CPSA, etc.).  

  • Engage stakeholders across the team to plan, develop and operate the quality program. Primary stakeholders include Product Development, R&D, Legal, Manufacturing and Global Planning and Customer Service.

  • Maintain dashboards and other reports of performance metrics as required.

  • Provide regular updates and status reports to Easton Senior Management.

 Ideal Compliance Manager Candidates will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the Sciences, Engineering, Quality Management, or related field with a minimum of 5 years of related quality experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • New product introduction or engineering background is highly desirable.

  • A demonstrated record of overcoming resistance to change, and driving the adoption of new business processes from a position of direct and indirect/informal authority.

  • Excellent relationship-building and persuasion skills with the ability to motivate and influence others across various departments.

  • Collaborative spirit and a proven leader focused on driving continual improvement.

  • Excellent verbal and written skills to successfully communicate to a variety of internal and external audiences, while counseling, negotiating and formally presenting views and/or technical criteria.

  • Ideal candidates will have experience with ISO compliance and/or certification
